Author's Bio
Anna Czarska is an award-winning screenwriter and film director,
creative producer, and poet whose work explores the raw edges of
human experience with candor, intensity, and emotional precision. In
this collection, their poetry and prose move through the places where
love and loss, longing and loneliness, trauma and resilience, and the
political and personal collide.
Czarska is the Managing Director and Creative Producer at Sticky
Tape Productions, a film and media production company known for
ethical, inclusive storytelling and unconventional cinema. Their films
have screened at festivals around the world, been featured on Irish
national broadcaster RTÉ, and received multiple awards and
recognitions.
As a neurodivergent writer, Czarska brings a distinctive psychological
lens to themes that are often difficult to name: rejection, depression,
heartbreak, aging, and the quiet, stubborn pull toward growth. Their
writing is frequently dark and intimate-sensual in places,
uncompromising in others- yet always grounded in hard-won clarity.
A parent and passionate advocate for a more compassionate world,
Czarska cares deeply about the environment, politics, animals, and
the rights and wellbeing of minorities and marginalized communities.
When they are not writing, they develop and produce film projects and
collaborate with artists and organizations to bring meaningful stories
to screen.
